What we collect
Scrap cable and wiring collection
We collect electrical cable of every kind: twin and earth from rewires, armoured cable, flex, data and telecoms cable, and electric motors, from rewires and strip-outs across Glasgow. Collected free with your other scrap metal.
A van load of cable from a strip-out · June 2026Rewires and strip-outs
A domestic rewire produces a tangle of old cable that most electricians do not want cluttering the van. Commercial strip-outs produce far more: trunking full of cable, armoured supplies, lighting circuits and data cabling. One of our photographs shows the cable stripped from a property in Ibrox, a typical pile.
Cable does not need to be stripped of its insulation before we collect it. Leave it as it is.
Electric motors and transformers
Motors from pumps, fans, machinery and appliances are collected too, as are transformers and old fluorescent light ballasts. Leave them whole.
Where the cable came from
We record what we collect and from where. For trade quantities we may ask which job the cable came from. This is normal practice and helps keep stolen cable out of the recycling chain.

Questions about this
Should I strip the cable first?
No. Leave the insulation on and leave the cable as it is; we collect it in that state.
The cable is still connected. Can you remove it?
No. We only collect cable that an electrician has already disconnected and removed. Never cut or pull cable that could be live.
