What do you need collected?
Most metal from homes, gardens, workshops and business premises, collected free. If a magnet sticks to it, or it is copper, brass, aluminium or lead, we will almost certainly take it.

- Fridges and freezers. They contain refrigerant gases that need specialist handling. Use your council bulky uplift or the retailer delivering your new one.
- Cars and car parts. Avram does not scrap vehicles or supply parts.
02How it works
Three steps, no forms to fill in twice
Step 1: Tell us what you have
Call or text 07876 708929, or send the short form with your postcode and a rough list.
Step 2: Send a photo if you can
One phone picture tells us the size of the load and how many hands to bring. We reply with a straight answer and a time.
Step 3: We collect and recycle
We agree a time, lift the metal ourselves and take it to an authorised recycling facility. No skip, no tip run.
03Who we collect for
Homes, trades and businesses
Every job is handled personally by Avram rather than passed to a subcontractor. Standard collection is free; if a job needs anything beyond a standard lift we say so before anything is booked.

Straight about costs
Free on the ground floor. A small charge only for carrying heavy appliances downstairs.
Everything on the ground floor, outside or in a close is collected free. Radiators, boilers, bikes and lighter items are free from any floor where access is safe. The only exception is washing machines, dishwashers and cookers being carried down from an upper floor, where a small labour charge per floor may apply. We confirm it before you book, never on the doorstep. If access is awkward, text a photo to 07876 708929 first.

Areas we cover06FAQ
Questions people ask before booking
01Is scrap metal collection really free?
Yes. Standard scrap metal collection is free, with no call-out fee. The only possible charge is a small labour fee when heavy appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers or cookers have to be carried down from an upper floor, and we tell you that before we book.
02Can I bring metal to you?
No. Avram is a collection service, not a scrapyard. There is no yard or drop-off point for the public; we come to you, lift the metal and take it away.
03What do you collect?
Boilers, radiators, copper cylinders, washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, cookers, cables and electric motors, gates and railings, bed frames, bikes, lawnmowers, cast iron baths, shelving, machinery and workshop scrap, plus loose copper, brass, lead, aluminium, stainless steel, steel and iron.
04Is there anything you do not take?
Fridges and freezers, because the refrigerant gas needs specialist handling, and we do not scrap cars or supply car parts. If you are unsure about an item, text a photo and we will tell you straight away.
05How quickly can you collect?
Same-day or next-day collection is often possible depending on where you are and where the van already is that day. Tell us your postcode and what you have and we will give you a realistic time.
06Do I need to be there?
Not necessarily. If the metal is outside or somewhere we can reach safely, and you have told us exactly what to take, we can collect while you are out. For items inside a property someone normally needs to let us in.
07My washing machine is on the second floor of a tenement. Can you still take it?
Yes. Heavy appliances carried down from upper floors carry a small labour charge per floor, which we confirm when you book. Everything else is lifted and carried by us; you do not need to move anything to the street.
08Where does the metal go?
Every load goes to an authorised recycling facility. Nothing is passed on to anyone who should not have it and nothing is fly-tipped.
